Original composition
Write music around the story, emotional arc, duration, and creative references.
Sometimes the track follows the picture. Sometimes it gives the campaign its identity.
Selected project
Original music, voiceover, and mix for Hasbro’s Grogu Comes Home, with We Are Royale.
What we do
Custom music starts with the feeling you want to leave behind. We translate references, story, and brand character into musical directions, then develop the chosen approach against picture. Some projects need a score that follows every turn in the edit. Others need a theme or sonic signature that can carry across a campaign. We’ll help define the right brief.
Write music around the story, emotional arc, duration, and creative references.
Agree on the number of musical directions and feedback stages before the writing begins.
Develop the chosen idea into a finished track, discussing live players or other production needs where they help the brief.
Explore a sonic logo, brand theme, or broader sound identity when the assignment extends beyond one piece of music.
Plan the lengths, alternate edits, and stems needed for cutdowns, localization, and future versioning.
If an existing track is a better fit, explore Topshelf’s curated catalog and help with music search for your intended use.

Frequently asked questions
Custom composition gives us room to write directly to your edit and brand. An existing track may suit the direction and schedule. We do both, and can discuss the creative fit, rights, and production needs before you choose an approach.
Ownership, exclusivity, and permitted use are defined in the project agreement. Tell us the media, territories, term, and any exclusivity requirements up front so the proposal reflects what the campaign needs.
We agree on the rights needed for the composition and recording as part of the project. Any outside material, samples, arrangements, or third-party contributions need to be considered too. Custom composition does not remove the need to define the intended use.
Share the audience, story, emotional arc, references, duration, schedule, and where the campaign will run. Tell us what you like about each reference and whether the picture is fixed. That gives the first musical directions a clear purpose.
Send it with your cut or boards, timeline, and intended use. We’ll talk through how we’d approach the music.
